Last night I was able to go to bed early - 10 pm - and was awakened by Alex at around midnight. I went in & fed him a bottle, then he closed his eyes and I tried to put him in bed, which of course immediately caused him to wake up and cry for another hour before he was willing to drink another 6 oz. and finally go back to sleep. And he slept until after 7am. Me too.

Our morning walk was a little short due to his late waking time (I wanted to get him back onto his usual schedule right away,) but we were able to take a short walk to the outdoor lion area, where a lioness was making some remarkable noises. Alex noticed her, despite the distance between them, and clearly wanted to pat her and maybe pull her hair.

After Alex's first nap we headed out to
Turtle Park where we hoped we'd meet up with Eitan & his parents. They told us yesterday that the park was supposed to be nice and that it had a sprinkler - great for an 87 degree day as forecast. Turned out they couldn't make it, so it was just the 3 of us. Alex enjoyed the huge sandbox (which has concrete turtles in it) and watching kids play in the fountains. We kept him out, though, because of his ongoing runny nose. He ate lunch and played, but seemed really tired very quickly so we left around 1. Car was hot on the way home, and Alex was really hot when we got him inside, but he was still hot after his nap. So, it was temperature-taking time. Ear thermometer indicated a small fever, so we tried the armpit thing and he was quite hot. He didn't have any other worrying symptoms, so we gave him tylenol and within an hour the fever was way down. That was around 6, so then we consulted with Angela, ate dinner, and tried to get him to sleep. But no dice! So he played for awhile, then seemed really hungry, so I gave him a bunch of Purely-Os (organic cheerios, basically) which he gobbled up. He was up late enough to get another smallish dose of tylenol, then, finally, he fell asleep at nine - who knows what our night will have in store for us!

That's all - I have two videos, here and here, and of course the pictures:
