Rory is home again- we were finally discharged after 5pm yesterday April 9, we arrived home and Alex was at the zoo with Rachel. When Alex came home he was all smiles and happiness, ran over to Rory and said, "that's my baby!" and was very excited. She, of course started crying right away. Last night, Rory slept 5 hours straight (WOW!), Alex woke up at 3am coughing, but went back to sleep after climbing into our bed and then deciding he would rather sleep in his bed he slept until 8am and woke up cheery! Still snotty and coughing etc.
Alex is having some transition problems, as expected, and we don't think we are handling it well. Poor boy is acting out on his frustration and we dont think the answer is time out but aren't sure what else to do. If anyone has any suggestions for good resources or ideas on what we can do suggest away- we like positive dicipline but find it difficult to do...

Hi Angela and Peter,
This is Rachael's mom. I just wanted to say that although you are worried about Alex, he will be okay. Rachael tells me what loving parents you are, and it seems in your absense he has been surrounded by people who also love him(including Rachael!)Do not be hard on yourselves, you have been through enough. Your children are beautiful. All the best, Lori Bird
