Another day

Today Alex went to tumbling class- he's missed so many classes between tumbling and music it's nice to start to get back into the schedule. He had such a good time in tumbling. Afterwards he went to the playground and came home so tired that when Peter told him he had to wash his hands, Alex said, "no, I want to go to sleep."
Alex loves to play his guitar and watch music videos on YouTube etc. So far his favorites are Hey Jude, Imagine and Baby Beluga. I'm not sure we should admit to this, but he also likes to see the Britney Spears, Beyonce, Pink video version of We Will Rock You...
Rory is also doing well, gaining weight though she continues to refuse to eat anything by mouth, either breast or bottle. She's getting all the calories, nutrition and fluid she needs through her tube feeds. This may be due to her Thrush (we are switching to systemic treatment rather than local treatment). She was super fussy and gassy yesterday and was awake for about 9 hours- she was sooo sleepy and making herself even fussier trying to fall asleep. Poor Baby! Today she's slept more and is less fussy.
We were told that all kids after having the pull-through procedure develop horrible diaper rashes due to a variety of different reasons - sensitive skin never before exposed to poop, excess digestive acids in the poop due to decreased reabsorption area in the gut, sensitive skin and a lot of poop etc etc. The recommendation is to use ilex cream with vaseline/aquaphor. The ilex cream becomes sort of rubber cement in texture and forms a barrier for the skin, but its sticky so to avoid sticking to the diaper you put vaseline or aquaphor over it. It's a mess. Rory's bottom is getting irritated so we're trying to be vigilant about changing her diaper every couple of hours. We have discovered is that Huggies diapers appear to stick less than Pampers (Pampers has this mesh layer that sticks to the ilex). Hopefully we can avoid the horrible horrible rash because the minor rash she already has irritates her (and looks painful!)
what are you saying about my bottom??
