Garden Notes- The kids planted popcorn this year.  We have been experimenting with all sorts of organic gardening methods with decent success.  We turned it into a companion planting mini-plot with the Native American traditional "Thee sisters" of corn, beans and squash.  It has been growing amazingly well.

  

There are two raised beds in the garden, the front one contains the three sisters and a couple of tomato plants.  The back one has already provided us with plenty of arugula, lettuce, kale and beans.  Coming up are cucumbers, tomatoes and we'll see what else works.

 Before the kids left we planted a sunflower house (design by Rory) in the shape of a heart- here it is 2 weeks later with plenty of sunflower sprouts!  Excited to see how it turns out.
