Bhaktapur is preserved gated city- lots of old architecture, new construction is all made in the old style many buildings are made with pieces from old buildings to preserve the old windows, doors etc. this the Durbar Square of Bhaktapur- our hotel was right off of the center

you can tell the occupation of the owners of the houses by the carvings around the window. Als, sometimes goods are stored under the eaves- a farmer has stored some garlic here.
