so yes, we've been pretty busy getting the kids into their own room and squeezing ourselves into our gigantic bedroom (we just have a lot of stuff), baking and then getting ready for the holidays. It's been awhile. We had Thanksgiving at Joiwind, Amit, Lila and Aloe's house with Joiwind's mom and some friends of theirs. The next day we went ice skating and in the afternoon, Alex and Rory came down with a GI bug. Poor kids, they threw up for about 12 hours. Alex was crying saying he didn't want to barf anymore and was sad because monkey wound up getting washed a few times because he "barfed on mangy monkey". He was fine after 24 hours and was totally back to normal (eating regularly) within a couple of days. Rory took a lot longer to recover but thankfully she did. We did take her to see her surgeon b/c we were concerned that she had developed enterocolitis, but she didn't. Her surgeon David Powell and Hirschsprung nurse Linda Haga were very pleased with how well she fared through the GI bug. They said the little ones sometimes don't do as well.
Anyway, everyday Rory grows up a little more- she loves taking things out and putting things into containers now. She and Alex play together too- I think her first word is Alex... she crawls after him saying "Ah-yah" and sometimes she waves things and says "Ah-yah" for him to look at. She gives him big smiles and laughs a lot.
Alex is getting s grown up... he likes to do things "by myself" but when he's tired he asks us to do things for him. He asserts himself all the time and has been experimenting with pronouns, saying things like, "is me going to stay there by myself?". 8) Those kids are so great... we love them!
