Boo at the Zoo

Saturday of Boo at the Zoo started out super rainy and windy... we were a little concerned that we would have to bail due to inclement weather. But... we had promised Alex taht if he took a good nap, we would go to boo at the zoo. He was looking forward to walking through the tiger display that makes it seem as though you are being eaten by the tiger, it burps when you get into it's belly, there are all sorts of thigns hanging (like rubber chickens) and then you are pooped out of its butt. Also high on the list of things to do (besides get lots of treats) was to see the elephant pumpkin stomp. Last year the elephant stepped on the pumpkin and it made a really loud boom sound. This year it did not... one elephant vogues for us and then smashed her pumpki and another elephant stomped on the pumpkin but it didn't make a loud boom sound. Oh well!
wonderbread!

We ran into Emmitt, Tomer, Aliza, Jim and Haya (Aliza's sister who has been staying with them helping them out for the past few months) and then ventured home after closing out the zoo.

On the way home we stopped to take pictures of Rory, the adorable sleeping loaf of wonderbread. Moments later, right up the road from us (a few houses above us) there were screeching tires and the slamming of cars into each other- I thought we should go see if they needed help but Peter spotted lots of police cars and advised against it- particularly once they ran out with guns. We turned back down the street and found an alternate route home. Apparantly there was an armed car-jacking that ended with the driver ramming into police cars and running away to be caught half a mile away. Kind of scary that we were so close to it.

The next day there were more Halloween festivities with a party in Mitchell park (the same place we went to the festival fund-raiser). Loads of fun, we went with Erin and Noah and then Peter, Rory, Nana and Gramps met up with us! More on that soon.
Grrr!
