sorry, still no pics uploaded- have to install some software to my computer. But... the good news is that Rory is gaining weight at home and her GI doctor was pleased with her progress. She will continue on her NG tube feeds of formula, she is allowed to drink as much breastmilk as she would like (measured, so not breastfeeding yet) so long as she does no develop diarrhea. She still has some catch-up growth to do- as of yesterday (Weds) she was3550 gm or 7 lbs 13 oz and she was 51.5 cm or 20.27 inches.
She has been prolapsing (a portion of her intestine comes out through the ostomy) just about daily. We were told so long as it doesn't look compromised (as in blood supply being cut off which we would see as change of color to purple/black/mottled looking) that we didn't need to worry about it and that at some point, she may get to a point where we reduce (put the piece of intestine back in) it and it pops back out.
Alex is doing well and adjusting to having baby sister (and us) at home. He wants to stay home much of the time or have us around/know that we are around. He asks for Nana, Gramps and Grandma Jill. He likes to say hi to "baby sister" and gives her toys to play with. Tuesday was Rory's first big outing since she's been home- she went to Jonah's treehouse with Alex. Kate came to Jonah's as well (people thought she was our young teen babysitter!) Then Weds morning we hung out with Leora, Eitan and Amalia. We all admired Amalia's thighs... Today Alex spent the morning at home playing with Tamra and Tess (and just about every toy with lots of pieces that is in the living room!).
We are looking forward to getting out and about with both Alex and Rory and catching up with friends. We have lots of pics once we get them ready- can't say when that will be but hopefully soon.
