Tube-free and togetherness

Hooray! Tube-free - they pulled the sump today. She had managed to remove it herself, but it was replaced. Then when the surgeons came by in the afternoon, they removed it. She was very happy about that. Jill came over to visit today- here are some pictures of them. Rory is looking great- we're so glad she's doing so well.

This morning Alex played with Erin and Noah, he enjoyed playing Noah's guitar (the big guitar). Alex has been having a good time with his friends, but has been saying to mama and dada "stop going to the hospital." Despite spending evenings and mornings with Alex, he lay his head down on Angela's belly the other night and said, "Mama, it's good to see you again"- HEARTBREAKING. It's been tough because all of this has been taking place over the holidays so his usual activities have not been taking place and many of his friends have been out of town. Next week many of his classes will start again and we hope that regaining some of his schedule and having us split our time will help boost Alex's spirits. He's been doing well and really enjoying spending time with his friends, Nana, and Grandma Jill, but misses us. We figure it will actually be easier for him when Rory comes home because we will be physically around more than we have been, but we'll see!

In the afternoon we (mama, dada, nana and Alex) went on errands together- Alex enjoyed "driving" the car, playing on a Bob the Builder back-hoe and a delicious Thai dinner. While errands are not particularly exciting, it was the first family outing since Christmas and Alex really enjoyed exploring with us.
