Rory - back in the hospital!

So despite the fact that we've been more aggressive with waking Rory to feed, and despite the fact that her food intake seemed to have been increasing over the last few days quite a bit, overall she's lost an ounce a day (on average) for the last 4 days. So, after our visit today to get her weighed, the doctors had her admitted to the hospital again. She does need to be gaining weight so that she's healthy for the surgery. So the plan right now is that she can still nurse, but after nursing she'll get additional food (pumped milk or formula) through a tube. We were disappointed - we really thought she was starting to eat really well at home, but this will assure that she gets the nutrition that she needs so that she is as healthy as possible by the time the surgery happens.

This means, though, that someone will need to be with her 24/7 at the hospital, making care for both she and Alex a challenge. Rory will be in the hospital for at least two weeks - through her surgery and recovery.

Let me know if you need me to come down for a couple days or so. I've been having a strange feeling that I'm need down in your area.

That just sucks. I am so sorry. At least she's still eating.
