Today she looks much better. Her abdomen is not as distended (decompression and colonic washes) and she is less dehydrated. Her breathing is back to normal and heartrate is a little high but not too bad. The surgical team did a biopsy to confirm Hirschsprung's (all of the other testing indicate that it is, however a biopsy is more definitive) the results will be back in a couple of days. She'll need other testing over the next week or so (one will be an upper GI waiting for the imaging dye from the barium enema to clear her system so that they can do another imaging exam, this time a look at a different part of the intestines). Meanwhile, they will continue to stabilize her and clear her system.

Here she is at Children's today - hooked up to lots of stuff but looking better. She had been keeping her eyes mostly closed and whimpering, but today she attempted a little cry and definitely opened her eyes a bunch of times and looked around. We put up some pictures of the rest of the nuclear family in case she wants to check us out (yes, our holiday cards, including this year's which we have yet to mail out- we'll do that soon).
