It's been sort of a long journey, but we finally arrived in Cape Cod on Friday afternoon. We left NYC on Tuesday morning (we had to move the car by 11:30, otherwise maybe we would have stayed until the afternoon or something.) We drove out to Belle Harbor, NY & spent a few hours with Leora, her sister, and Eitan on the beach. Then we drove to Caryn/Joe/Jasper's house on Long Island where we stayed two nights (and I don't think we left the house, really, except to go to the store. The kids had plenty of fun inside, though.) Then we headed to Cape Cod with a planned short stop in Providence which, because of traffic woes and the need to stop to pick up some things on the way, turned into an overnight stay with Brian & Jen. And we got to spend a few hours with Jeanette & John's baby girl, Luca (two weeks old.) Alex got to 'hold' Luca while I held both of them, and he really liked that. Then on Friday morning we headed to Cape Cod, stopping at Trader Joe's on the way, then stopping in Orleans to pick up the required cable modem for the house, THEN dropping by the Schaller house to get a house key, and FINALLY we got here. My parents were due to arrive tomorrow, but it turns out that my dad fell asleep at the wheel in Illinois, drove into the ditch (and did not go into oncoming traffic, luckily.) Both parents are OK, but they will not get here until at least Friday.
