0701

My parents have company (Steve and Nancy), so we are shorter than usual on sleeping space, so I slept in the room with Alex last night. Didn't go very well, though - he eventually ended up in the bed with me, and so neither of us slept especially deeply. My mom & Steve ended up taking him for a long walk at 5:30 while I rested for another hour or two, which made a big difference. And Alex had a great time with them.

In the afternoon, the weather was great (it was really nice yesterday, too.) But we hung around here and let Alex play in the inflatable pool and also in the birdbath! He had a great time - naked except for this hat.

After the second nap we went to the fish pier where Alex could see seals up close as they lunged for scraps of fish, and gulls competing for the same. We'll have to go there again!

He's learned a few new 'skills', including making funny noises by patting his mouth with his hand, and today he was putting his hands over his ears & off again, which was apparently interesting to him.

Angela got a little sick in Turkey and one of the other docs put in an IV for her so that she wouldn't get dehydrated. I'll include a picture of her that I captured from one of our Skype calls! She's doing much better today & even gave a lecture this morning.
