Angela, Alex, and I continue to do zoo walks in the morning as long as the weather is decent. It's cooled down here a whole lot - instead of 90's it's more like low 70's. I like that. Today we walked all the way up almost to the far end of the zoo to where the cheetahs live, and it was nice to see them active, unlike in the middle of the day when they, like most cats, like to sleep under a tree. The cheetah cubs are now nearly adults, though they still have a little fuzz.

Alex is doing very well. Yesterday we went to a few parks (though we didn't see anyone we knew at all, sadly,) and today we went to Kalorama park in the afternoon. Plenty of babies there that Alex knows, which was great. On the downside, the only play structure in that park is under a mulberry tree, which has been dropping its unripe fruit, which then gets smashed by tiny feet.
